The Loveland Initiative was organized in 1996 by a group of neighbors supported by the Loveland community. It was created as a way for neighbors to assist neighbors when times were tough.
We serve families who live within the Loveland City School District and have income that falls within the TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) guidelines.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2010 Loveland population hovered just above 12,000 with 8.5% (roughly 1020 individuals) living in a household with an income below poverty level.
We are registering a large percentage of families who do not live in HUD (Section 8) housing. With the economy still in bad shape, the need for assistance within the community is growing.
